This day is dedicated to exploring Fatima, one of the most revered Marian pilgrimage sites. Our Blessed Mother appeared here to three shepherd children—Lucia Santos and her cousins, Bl. Jacinta and Bl. Francisco Marto, in 1917. Explore the Chapel of the Apparitions, the heart of the sanctuary, and visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary, where the visionaries rest. DAY 5
Santiago de Compostela

This morning we begin our visit of Santiago de Compostela, one of the most famous shrines in the world, where St. James (brother of St. John the Divine) is buried. We begin with a visit to the Cathedral of St. James, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in all of Europe. As pilgrims, we have the opportunity to climb the stairs behind the high altar to visit the crypt where the relics of St. James are preserved. Enjoy a stroll on your own through the beautiful streets of Santiago de Compostela. Optional Morning Walking Tour ~ Join the walking pilgrims at Monte del Gozo to walk the last couple of miles of El Camino to the Cathedral.

DAY 6
Oviedo & Santander

Depart Santiago de Compostela this morning and drive to Oviedo, the capital of the Asturias region. Here we will visit the Cathedral, which houses the tombs of Asturian kings and the Camara Santa, a restored 9th-century chapel containing expressive statues of Christ and the Apostles. We then continue to Santander for dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Santander (Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 7
Loyola & Lourdes

To be pilgrims with “The Pilgrim”: This morning we depart Santander and travel to Loyola, known locally as the town of Azpeitia. Here, in 1491, Iñigo Lopez de Loyola Oñaz was born in the Tower House of the Loyola family. Celebrate Mass in the Chapel of the Conversion, the heart of the Sanctuary, where Inigo changed his life to devote himself to God. The Chapel, located on the top floor, honors the location where Ignatius recovered from his cannonball injury. His readings on the Life of Christ and the Saints led to his conversion and the beginning of his pilgrimage to become a soldier for Christ. We have a guided visit to the Sanctuary built around the tower house of the Loyola family. We then cross the Pyrenees mountains and head to Lourdes in France.
Overnight: Lourdes (Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 8
Lourdes

This day we start with Mass at the Grotto of Massabielle, where Our Lady appeared to Bernadette in 1858. Later, we take our official group photo in front of the Basilica of St. Pius X, the world’s largest underground church, followed by our guided tour of Lourdes. The Basilica, with the Baths, where thousands of miraculous cures have taken place, is the most respected shrine and sanctuary in France.
Overnight: Lourdes (Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 9
Lourdes to Montserrat

This morning we depart Lourdes and travel to Montserrat, the spiritual heart of Catalonia and home to a dramatically set Benedictine monastery. For 700 years, this Marian shrine has attracted thousands of pilgrims from around the world. We pause here to visit the Black Madonna of Montserrat, probably Spain’s most fervent devotion to the Blessed Mother. Overnight: Montserrat (Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 10
Montserrat to Barcelona

After breakfast, we visit Manresa, a place of profound conversion for Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). Here, in a cave on the banks of the Cardoner River, Ignatius received a vision that provided him with deep insights into spiritual life and altered the course of his own life. From the initial insights he received here, Ignatius went on to pen the Spiritual Exercises. We then continue to Barcelona, where we will have the afternoon free to visit Las Ramblas before continuing to our hotel for dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Barcelona (Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 11
Barcelona

This morning, visit the famous church, La Sagrada Familia (Holy Family), the still unfinished Basilica designed by the celebrated Art Nouveau architect Antoni Gaudí. Enjoy a full guided tour of the basilica before celebrating Mass. Next, visit the Sacred Heart Church, where the sword that St. Ignatius offered to Our Lady of Montserrat is on display. Conclude the day with a visit to the Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar in the Gothic Quarter, where St. Ignatius once begged for alms. This historic basilica, built by the faithful of Barcelona in the 14th century, is a remarkable example of Catalan Gothic architecture. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Barcelona (Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 12
Barcelona to Rome

This morning, transfer to the airport for our flight to Rome. Time permitting, upon arrival, visit the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, one of Rome’s four major basilicas and the burial site of St. Paul. After our visit, transfer to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Rome (Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 13

Overnight: Rome (Breakfast, Dinner)

DAY 14
Rome

Today we visit St. Peter’s Basilica, built on the site where St. Peter the Apostle was martyred. Here we will walk through the Holy Door for the Jubilee and receive our plenary indulgence. Later, we will have the opportunity to pray at the tomb of St. John Paul II and reflect on Michelangelo’s Pieta sculpture. In the afternoon, explore sites dedicated to St. Ignatius of Loyola. Begin with a visit to the Gesù, the Mother Church of the Society of Jesus, which houses the tomb of St. Ignatius. Next, step into the rooms of St. Ignatius, located next door, where he lived and wrote the Constitutions of the Jesuits. Conclude the day at Chiesa di Sant’Ignazio di Loyola, where you will see the breathtaking fresco The Apotheosis of St. Ignatius on the ceiling. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Rome (Breakfast, Dinner)
