DAY 2
Arrive Barcelona
Upon arriving in Lisbon, you will meet your Tour Escort who will accompany you throughout your pilgrimage. Our first stop is Santarem, where we visit the historic Church of St. Stephen, known for its 8th-century eucharistic miracle. After this, we’ll head to Fatima for hotel check-in, followed by a lovely dinner and a restful overnight stay in preparation for the next leg of your pilgrimage.
DAY 3
Fatima
We begin with a solemn Mass at the Chapel of Apparitions, then visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Fatima to learn about Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto. Next, we explore Aljustrel, the shepherd children’s upbringing, and Valinhos, another significant apparition site. We conclude with reflection at the Stations of the Cross along the Via Sacra, marking the first apparition, followed by dinner and an overnight stay at our hotel.
DAY 4
Fatima
After breakfast at your hotel, we start our 2-hour journey to Porto. Located along the Douro River estuary, Porto is one of the oldest European centers. Porto is famous for its port wine, a major international export. The port wine derived its name from the City of Porto. When in Porto, we visit the Monument Church of St. Francis, celebrate Holy Mass at Our Lady of the Clergy, and visit the historic Church of Gold. We enjoy a guided tour of a local wine factory with tastings. After a late lunch, we continue to Santiago de Compostela for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5
Santiago de Compostela
After breakfast, we will explore Santiago de Compostela, famous for its historical significance. The tour includes a visit to the magnificent Cathedral, the sacred Tomb of St. James, and the beautiful Churches of San Francisco and Santa Clara, as well as the impressive Bell Tower. After a day of discovery, we’ll return to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 6
Santiago De Compostela
After breakfast, we will start our 5-hour drive to Burgos with multiple stops along the way. Burgos, the final resting place of many Spanish monarchs, is known as the cradle of Castile and the Gothic capital of Spain. A guided tour will showcase the stunning Burgos Cathedral, the nation’s third-largest church, celebrated for its Spanish Gothic architecture. After Mass, we will continue to our hotel for check-in and a delightful dinner.
DAY 7
Burgos
Today will be an inspiring journey as we visit Loyola, the birthplace of St. Ignatius, founder of the Jesuit Order. We’ll start at the beautiful Basilica of Loyola to learn about St. Ignatius’s life and legacy. Then, we’ll check into our hotel in Lourdes and enjoy a delicious dinner. There’s also an optional candlelight procession for a peaceful spiritual moment. We’ll conclude the day with time to relax and prepare for the exciting experiences ahead!
DAY 8
Lourdes
After breakfast, join a guided tour of Lourdes, including St. Bernadette’s house, the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, and the Miraculous Spring known for its healing claims. Visit the XII-century Castle for panoramic views and insight into the town’s medieval history. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Dinner and overnight accommodations are included at your hotel.
DAY 9
Lourdes
Today is intentionally set aside as a special day for personal prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal in Lourdes. After breakfast, you are free to shape your day according to your own pace and devotion. Pilgrims may choose to return to the Grotto for quiet prayer, spend time in the Baths (if open), or participate in the Blessing of the Sick. You may also explore the Rosary Basilica, walk the peaceful grounds, or join one of the optional devotions offered throughout the day. For those who wish, the day presents a perfect opportunity to light candles, visit the various basilicas, or meditate along the beautiful paths surrounding the sanctuary. You can also enjoy the charming local shops and cafés or simply take time to rest and absorb the grace of this holy place. Dinner will be served at the hotel, followed by a restful overnight stay.
DAY 10
Medjugorje
Make your way to your local airport where you will board your flight. Upon arrival collect your luggage in the baggage claim area and continue to the arrival’s hall where you will be greeted by your tour guide and driver, who will take you on the 2 1/2-hour drive to the village of Medjugorje. Enjoy dinner before retiring for the evening.
DAY 11
Medjugorje
Experience the beauty and peace of this simple village. During your stay in Medjugorje you will have the opportunity to share faith with pilgrims from all over the world. Here are some of the activities we’ll be sharing with our fellow pilgrims: Each morning at 10am we assemble at St James Church for the English-language Mass (Feast days and Sundays English Mass is at Noon). Follow the path up Apparition Hill where the visionaries first encountered Our Lady. Touch and pray before the cross that commemorates the spot where Mary first appeared to the visionaries. Each evening, we will join the villagers and pilgrims in praying the rosary. The Apparition usually takes place at 5:40 PM (20 minutes till 6:00 PM). Once Daylight Saving Time ends, the time will shift to 6:40 PM. Each evening there is the Blessing of the Sick and a blessing of any religious items you have with you.
DAY 12
Medjugorje
This morning, our guide will arrange meetings with the visionaries at their own homes provided that they are in Medjugorje during your trip and pending their availability. We will have the opportunity to climb Krizevac Mountain, where in 1933 the villagers built a 30′ high cross on the anniversary of Jesus’ crucifixion. Visit and pray at “Blue Cross”, which is a place of great healings and graces- a very special place at the base of Apparition Hill.
