Join Fr. Jovencio Ricafort on a Pilgrimage Cruise to Greece, Italy, & Croatia!

DAY 1
Depart USA

Today we board our flights to Athens with beverages and snacks served aloft.

DAY 2
Arrive Athens

Upon arrival in Athens, we are greeted by our tour escort and transfer to our hotel for dinner (time permitting) and overnight.

DAY 3
Corinth

Our pilgrimage starts with a drive to Corinth first across the Corinthian Canal, started by roman emperor Nero and then to one of the oldest towns of Greece, where St. Paul came after he left Athens and after a stop at the ancient Corinth (18: 1-18; Cori.) we again meet with St. Paul, here he remained for one and a half-year. We will be visiting a marketplace where the Apostle preached to the Corinthians, the Temple of Apollo and the Corinth Museum. 

DAY 4
Athens

Today we will be visiting and exploring the city of Athens (Acts 17 16-34). Visit the Acropolis with Parthenon the greatest monument of antiquity, dedicated to the goddess Athena, from here one can see Aeropagus (areios Pagoes = Hill of Area) visited by Pope John Paul II, same hill where St. Paul gave his famous sermon of “Unknown God”. Transfer to port to board our cruise ship.

DAY 5
Santorini

Embark on a memorable half-day shore excursion for cruise ship passengers, starting from Athinios Port in Santorini. Disembark with ease and meet your local guide by the cable car exit in Fira. Begin your journey in Firostefani, marveling at stunning views of the Aegean Sea and the iconic blue dome. Next, visit Oia, famous for its scenic vistas and vibrant market, perfect for photos and souvenirs. Ascend to Prophet Ilias for panoramic views and a visit to the historic monastery (seasonal availability). Continue to Megalochori to admire its traditional architecture, then unwind at Perivolos Beach, known for its unique black sand. End the day with free time to dine and shop for souvenirs, making your Santorini adventure unforgettable.

DAY 6
Katakolon

Disembark in Katakolon and journey to Ancient Olympia, the legendary birthplace of the Olympic Games. Walk among the ruins of the ancient stadium, the Temple of Zeus, and the Temple of Hera, where the Olympic flame is still lit today. Explore this UNESCO World Heritage site and immerse yourself in the history of the world’s most famous athletic competition. Afterward, transfer to a charming area where you’ll enjoy free time to shop, savor local Greek cuisine, or simply soak in the relaxed Mediterranean atmosphere. We then return to the port in time to reboard our cruise ship, bringing with us memories of Greece’s rich cultural heritage.

DAY 7
Corfu

Embark on a journey through Corfu’s enchanting landmarks, colorful villages, and breathtaking vistas. Begin with a visit to the picturesque Paleokastritsa, renowned for its splendid bays and panoramic views. Explore the Monastery of the Virgin, steeped in history and surrounded by serene landscapes. Continue your exploration in the Old Town of Corfu, where you’ll admire the architecture of Byzantine churches, the old fortress, and the lively Esplanade Square. This delightful tour promises a day filled with cultural immersion and scenic beauty.

DAY 8
Kotor

Set sail on a captivating boat excursion through the scenic Boka Bay, visiting the historic Our Lady of the Rocks and the enchanting Blue Cave. Cruise along the Verige Straits and the Herceg Novi Riviera, soaking in the picturesque coastal views. Delve into the region’s history as you explore hidden caves once used to conceal submarines. This immersive tour offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and historical intrigue, promising an unforgettable day in the heart of Montenegro.

DAY 9
Split & Medjugorje

This morning, disembark your cruise and enjoy a scenic drive through the stunning Dalmatian countryside as you make your way to Medjugorje, a peaceful village in Bosnia and Herzegovina that has become a world-renowned destination for Catholic pilgrims since the reported Marian apparitions in 1981. Upon arrival, visit the Church of St. James, the spiritual heart of Medjugorje, where countless pilgrims gather for prayer, Mass, and Adoration. Then, ascend Apparition Hill, the site where the Blessed Virgin Mary is said to have first appeared to six local children. As you climb, pause at the bronze reliefs depicting the mysteries of the rosary, reflecting on the profound messages of peace and reconciliation tied to this sacred place. You may also have the opportunity to visit Cross Mountain, featuring a striking white cross built in 1934, which offers sweeping views and a powerful space for prayer and meditation. After this deeply spiritual experience, enjoy a leisurely return drive to port, reflecting on the blessings of the day.

DAY 10
Koper

Your journey commences with a visit to the remarkable Predjama Castle, an architectural marvel perched on a 123-meter-high cliff. Spend time exploring its medieval grandeur and learning about the legendary knight Erazem of Predjama. From there, venture to the renowned Postojna Cave, where an exhilarating ride on an electric train transports you into a subterranean wonderland. Marvel at the intricate network of tunnels, passages, and chambers, and encounter the mysterious proteus, also known as the “human fish.” This karst marvel has captivated millions of visitors over the centuries with its awe-inspiring beauty and natural wonders.

DAY 11
Venice

After disembarking, we take our private boat to San Marco’s Square and explore Venice, nicknamed “la Serenissima.” We begin with a guided walking tour of St. Mark’s Square, one of the largest open spaces in Venice. We visit two of its landmark buildings, the Basilica of San Marco and the Bridge of Sighs.

DAY 12
Return Home

Today we transfer to the airport and board our return flights home, carrying with us memories and keepsakes that will last a lifetime!
