Preparing your journey
Travel Info
Health preparation and mobility notes.

Your health, safety, and comfort are important to us. At Pax Via Tours & Travel, we strive to make every pilgrimage a safe, enjoyable, and spiritually enriching experience for all travelers.
We encourage all pilgrims to consult their healthcare provider before traveling, especially if they have chronic medical conditions, recent surgeries, mobility limitations, or other health concerns. Please ensure you have an adequate supply of all prescription medications for the entire trip and carry them in their original labeled containers in your carry-on luggage.
If you have any dietary restrictions, allergies, mobility concerns, or special medical needs, please inform the Pax Via team as early as possible so we can determine whether accommodations may be available.
Many pilgrimage destinations include uneven stone streets, cobblestone pathways, hills, staircases, and historic sites where elevators or ramps may not be available. Daily walking often ranges from 1 to 3 miles, with periods of standing during guided visits, Holy Mass, and sightseeing.
While every effort will be made to accommodate travelers with special needs, accessibility standards in many countries differ from those in the United States. Some churches, shrines, hotels, and historical sites may have limited accessibility.
Pax Via Tours & Travel is unable to provide individual personal assistance with walking, eating, dressing, medication administration, or boarding and exiting vehicles. Travelers who require personal assistance throughout the pilgrimage should travel with a companion or caregiver who can provide the necessary support. If you have questions regarding accessibility or mobility, please contact our office before registering so we can discuss your individual needs.
Medical facilities and services vary by destination. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that includes emergency medical coverage, medical evacuation, and trip interruption protection. Be sure to carry your insurance card and emergency contact information with you throughout your pilgrimage.
To help ensure a safe and enjoyable journey, we recommend that you:
Stay well hydrated throughout the pilgrimage.
Wear comfortable walking shoes with good support.
Protect yourself from the sun with sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
Wash or sanitize your hands regularly.
Bring any personal medications and a small travel first-aid kit.
Get adequate rest and pace yourself throughout the pilgrimage.
For the latest international travel health recommendations, vaccinations, and destination-specific health information, we encourage you to visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Traveler's Health website before your departure.
Our goal is to help every pilgrim travel with confidence, peace of mind, and the assurance that our team will do everything reasonably possible to make your pilgrimage a memorable and faith-filled experience.
