A CATHOLIC PILGRIMAGE TO GUADALAJARA & MEXICO CITY Under the Spiritual Direction of Fr. Julito R. Orpilla

Upon arrival at Guadalajara International Airport early in the morning, we meet our local guide and begin this beautiful pilgrimage through the heart of Catholic Mexico. After breakfast, transfer to the magnificent Cathedral of Guadalajara, where we will celebrate our first Private Mass together. Continue with a guided tour of Guadalajara, discovering the historic and cultural treasures of one of Mexico’s most beautiful cities. We then travel to Zapopan to visit this important pilgrimage destination before continuing to colorful Tlaquepaque, known for its charming streets, traditional architecture, artisan shops, and vibrant Mexican culture before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast and hotel check-out, depart Guadalajara for the Sanctuary of Santo Toribio, honoring St. Toribio Romo, the beloved Mexican priest and martyr. We then continue to San Juan de los Lagos, one of Mexico’s great Catholic pilgrimage destinations. Here, celebrate a Private Mass and spend time in prayer before continuing the journey. After lunch on your own, depart for the beautiful colonial city of Guanajuato. Upon arrival, enjoy a guided city tour highlighting its historic streets and distinctive architecture before checking into the hotel.

After breakfast, check out and travel to enchanting San Miguel de Allende, one of Mexico’s most celebrated colonial cities. At the iconic Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel, celebrate a Private Mass surrounded by the beauty of this historic church and its soaring neo-Gothic towers. Following Mass, enjoy lunch on your own and free time for shopping and exploring San Miguel de Allende. In the afternoon, continue to Mexico City. Upon arrival, check into the hotel and enjoy dinner together.

Today is one of the great spiritual highlights of our pilgrimage. After breakfast, journey to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, one of the most beloved Marian pilgrimage sites in the world. Celebrate a Private Mass at one of the chapels of the Shrine, followed by a guided visit and time for prayer. After lunch on your own, continue into historic Mexico City to visit the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Zócalo. We will also visit San Hipólito Church, a major center of devotion to San Judas Tadeo — St. Jude, patron saint of difficult and desperate causes. Our pilgrimage continues to Sagrada Familia Church, associated with Blessed Miguel Pro, the courageous Jesuit priest and martyr who was executed during the religious persecution of the Cristero era. Before returning to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Begin the morning with breakfast followed by another special opportunity to celebrate Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, allowing time to return in prayer to the spiritual heart of our pilgrimage.We then continue to Coyoacán, one of Mexico City’s most charming and historic neighborhoods, for a guided visit. Later, we transfer to the famous canals of Xochimilco and board a traditional colorful trajinera. Enjoy a festive lunch aboard the boat accompanied by mariachi music, a wonderful celebration of Mexican culture and fellowship. After this memorable afternoon, return to the hotel for our final dinner together in Mexico City.

After breakfast at the hotel, check out and transfer to Mexico City International Airport for our return flight home. As our pilgrimage comes to an end, we carry home the blessings of the Masses celebrated together, our visits to Mexico’s sacred shrines, and especially our time in prayer with Our Lady of Guadalupe.
