Balkans Pilgrimage Under The Spiritual Direction Of Fr. Jovito Rata & Fr. Geoffrey Baraan

Today we depart on our overnight international flight to Croatia, beginning a beautiful spiritual pilgrimage through the Balkans and Greece. Relax and enjoy the onboard services as we prepare our hearts for the blessings and experiences ahead.

Upon arrival in Dubrovnik, known as the “Pearl of the Adriatic,” we are greeted by our tour escort and transferred to our hotel. Depending on arrival time, enjoy a brief orientation walk through the breathtaking Old Town, surrounded by medieval walls and stunning coastal views. Celebrate Holy Mass and overnight.

After breakfast, we enjoy a guided tour of Dubrovnik’s historic Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the beautiful Church of St. Blaise, dedicated to the patron saint of the city, and walk through the ancient limestone streets filled with churches, monasteries, and centuries of Christian history. Enjoy free time for prayer, shopping, or relaxing along the Adriatic Sea.

This morning we depart for Mostar, famous for its historic Old Bridge and rich blend of cultures and religions. Following our visit, we continue to Medjugorje, one of the most visited Catholic pilgrimage sites in the world. Upon arrival, we celebrate Holy Mass and have time for personal prayer and reflection.

Today is dedicated to prayer and spiritual renewal in Medjugorje. Pilgrims may climb Apparition Hill or Cross Mountain while praying the Rosary and Stations of the Cross. Visit St. James Church, participate in the evening prayer program, and hear testimonies from the local community if available. This peaceful village has become a place of deep conversion and healing for pilgrims worldwide.

After breakfast, we travel along the stunning Adriatic coastline into Montenegro. We visit the beautiful medieval town of Kotor, surrounded by dramatic mountains and one of Europe’s most scenic bays. Celebrate Holy Mass before continuing to Budva, known for its charming Old Town and seaside beauty.

Today we journey into Albania. Our first stop is Shkodër, one of the oldest Christian cities in the Balkans. We then continue to Tirana, where we visit sites connected to St. Mother Teresa, whose Albanian roots remain a great source of pride for the nation.

After breakfast, we travel toward the beautiful lakeside city of Ohrid, often called the “Jerusalem of the Balkans” because of its many ancient churches and monasteries. Visit historic Christian sites overlooking Lake Ohrid and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this sacred city.

Today we enter Greece and travel to the breathtaking region of Meteora Monasteries. These world-famous monasteries are dramatically built atop towering rock formations and offer one of the most inspiring spiritual landscapes in the world. We visit selected monasteries while learning about the monastic life and deep Christian heritage of the region.

After breakfast, we continue south to Athens, cradle of Western civilization and an important city in the ministry of St. Paul. Upon arrival, enjoy a panoramic tour including the Acropolis area, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and the historic city center.

This morning we travel to Ancient Corinth, where St. Paul preached and established one of the earliest Christian communities. Visit the ancient ruins, the Bema where St. Paul stood before the tribunal, and celebrate Holy Mass. We then return to Athens for free time, shopping, or personal exploration. Tonight we have a farewell dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, we transfer to the airport for our return flight home, carrying with us unforgettable memories, spiritual renewal, and the blessings received throughout this extraordinary Balkan pilgrimage journey.
